What the Fries to Open in South Charlotte
Posted on December 8, 2020
What The Fries is taking its popular food truck business and opening a restaurant in early 2021. The location is a former Cici’s Pizza at 10707 Park Road, Suite R, near Pineville-Matthews Road in south Charlotte.
“We are in the process of removing the buffet areas and the pizza ovens,” says chef Greg Williams in a statement. Williams founded What The Fries in 2015 with best friend and fellow chef/owner Jamie Barnes. “We are changing the game area to a space to sell and promote local authors, vendors and artists, and we’re having a mural painted. This space will be us: hip-hop, family-friendly, welcoming and fun,” adds Williams.
The owners plan to offer socially-distanced dine-in and carry out and hands-free (digital) payment options. The space will have a seating capacity of 100.
The truck will take a temporary hiatus from roaming the city when the new restaurant opens.
