Ballantyne Amp Programming to Begin

Get ready to rock out at the Amphitheater! An exciting new Ballantyne Reimagined amenity, The Amp will start hosting concerts, art installations, markets and more in September.

The programming team is looking to host three large-scale concerts in the fall, plus a mix of new food and drink festivals. All events will complement what’s already being offered in Ballantyne’s Backyard and forthcoming at Brixham Park.

“The Amp will allow us to take existing programs up a notch and expand the initiatives we’ve already launched with CREATE Ballantyne,” says Hailey Rorie, Northwood Office’s director of community relations.

For example, Blumenthal Performing Arts is considering the 3,500-capacity venue for the second annual Charlotte International Arts Festival. Expect other fall programs like Charlotte is Creative’s popular CreativeMornings/Charlotte program, local performances, markets and more.

By day, the community can expect food truck pop-ups, weekly fitness classes and outdoor workshops. A holiday experience is also in the works to accompany the Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular, which will return to Ballantyne’s Backyard in December.

There’s no limit to the partnership and event possibilities at The Amp, located behind The Ballantyne Hotel, which has a high-tech sound system, lighting package and covered stage. Events will be both ticketed and free.
