When heading to The Amp Ballantyne™ for an outdoor event or taking in the Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular in Ballantyne’s Backyard, staying warm and cozy is an absolute must. The bright lights and entertainment will dazzle you, but there’s nothing wrong with getting a few oohs and ahhs for your impeccable style, too.
Forget almost everything you ever learned about fashion. Take your time-tested color swatches and carefully matched pattern ensembles and throw them out the window.
This season, there’s the chaos of pairing bold prints, embellished tops and dark florals as if they were made for each other. Denim is everywhere in every shape and form, but thankfully the jean fit is more relaxed. Faux fur is in abundance and pearls are the jewel of the moment. Oversized is an understatement, and textural mixes are mad, but put them all together the right way and you might be the trendiest person alive.
Why not try these street and runway trends when you step out in South Charlotte this winter?
Combat Boot — The One Must-Have
The biggest fashion and function trend is the ubiquitous combat boot and finding the perfect one is easier than ever. Almost every designer has put their best boot forward and why not? You can wear boots with virtually anything. Take for instance, the prettiest mini sweater dress with long thick socks and a bomber jacket or perhaps a new favorite, wide-leg jeans with a pearl embellished tank and the fabulous Rabanne H&M military jacket.
The Details — Embellish Me!
You’ve heard it before, but in fashion it’s vital — it’s all in the details. From embroidery to beading to brooches. Plain and simple is out, and anything with a shine, or even a blinding glare, is in. You can get moonstruck for metallics and texture or pin a minimum of four or five brooches to your outfit. Just sparkle like a diamond, and you’re ready to go!
