“Safecation” in Ballantyne
Northwood Hospitality unveils safety and well-being promise
By Christina Thigpen
Local and out-of-town guests alike can rest assured – Northwood Hospitality uses the highest-grade cleaning products and has put into place enhanced safety protocols. Northwood’s Ballantyne portfolio includes The Ballantyne, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Charlotte; Aloft Charlotte Ballantyne; Courtyard Charlotte Ballantyne and Staybridge Suites Charlotte Ballantyne.
The new Safety & Well-Being Promise builds upon these hotels’ high standards of housekeeping, food and beverage and overall hygiene.
“The goal with the initiative is to serve as both an assurance and a promise that the well-being and safety of our guests and team members is our No. 1 priority,” says Rebecca Whitmarsh, area director of operations (select service) at Northwood Hospitality.
The Promise focuses on three pillars: prevention, cleanliness and reducing contact. Guests will notice safety procedures throughout each hotel during their stay.
Prevention measures include masks and gloves, staff temperature checks, plexiglass shield protective screens and social distancing practices. Cleanliness efforts consist of antimicrobial fogging, sanitizing and UV light cleaning technology. Guests will find hand sanitizer dispensers and sanitizing wipes provided in all guest rooms, and housekeeping services will be provided only upon request.
To reduce contact, the staff has removed all non-essential items from guest rooms. Touchless dispensers for soap and paper towels are accessible in all public restrooms. Cleaning frequencies in public areas have also increased.
“We’ve considered every aspect of the guest experience to instill a sense of normalcy while focusing on cleanliness and safety,” says Whitmarsh. “Our team is committed to providing guests with an easy escape during a challenging time.”
