Fall Must-Haves
Ballantyne boutique owners share their favorite looks
By Sarah Gallo
As sweet aromas of pumpkin and cinnamon fill the air, and leaves begin coloring the streets, shopping local proves the perfect way to celebrate this fall season. Thankfully, Ballantyne offers several boutiques fully equipped with favorite fall staples.
The Cheeky Bean
At The Cheeky Bean in Ballantyne Village, owner Sarah Barnette keeps it timeless, sharing that she wants her customers to feel good about investing in their clothes.
“I love not to get too trendy,” Barnette said. “I try to get pieces that people can wear year after year.”
Barnette described the fall looks of which she just can’t get enough.
“Basic tanks are always in because you can layer them with everything, and bralettes under cozy sweaters I think are just the cutest,” Barnette said. “Tunics are always good because I can throw them over leggings.”
GoldKloth Boutique
Roni Zapin, the owner of GoldKloth Boutique in Ballantyne Village, works to style women of all shapes and sizes (small-3X) and features more than 40 local vendors.
“I have a northern eye,” Zapin said. “My colors are darker, more jewel-toned, which is a little bit different.”
Zapin shared a few of her favorite fall trends.
“We’re seeing more of plaid,” Zapin said. “We’re seeing the tie-up, vertical stripes and busy prints.”
Apricot Lane
At Apricot Lane in StoneCrest at Piper Glen, owner Beth Merrill strives to give customers what they want.
“We have fitted. We have flowy. We have trendy and we have casual. We have a lot of styles you can choose from.”
Merrill’s go-to fall look consists of skinny jeans, a simple tee layered with a cardigan tied in a knot, booties and a pair of earrings.
